Frequently Asked Questions: New Zealand (NZ) Express & Carrier Guide
Will an Australian refurbished iPhone work on Spark, One NZ, 2degrees, and Skinny after the NZ 3G shutdown?
Yes, 100%. Apple distributes the exact same regional A-number hardware across Australia and New Zealand (X/A models). Every unlocked iPhone from iPhone 8 and iPhone SE through iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max supports native 4G VoLTE calling and 5G (Bands n78 3500MHz and n28 700MHz, plus LTE Band 28/3/7) on Spark, One NZ (formerly Vodafone NZ), 2degrees, and Skinny. For Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel handsets, 4G/5G data bands are compatible while VoLTE calling depends on NZ carrier firmware profiles.
How does Phone Repair Centre compare to Reebelo NZ, PB Tech Refurbished, Noel Leeming Reboxed, Good Tech NZ, or Trade Me?
Unlike multi-seller broker marketplaces (Reebelo NZ) that use generic stock renders, parallel-import retail bins (PB Tech Refurbished, Noel Leeming Reboxed, Good Tech NZ, Expert Infotech), or unverified private Trade Me sellers, every handset at Phone Repair Centre (PRC STORE PTY LTD, ABN 20 609 861 038, NSW Second-Hand Dealer Licence #2PS2914401) is photographed 1-of-1 on our Sydney workbench at 122 Queen St, St Marys NSW 2760 and 30-point bench-certified by master technicians with 18+ years of experience.
Are there New Zealand Customs duties or GST on refurbished phones shipped from Sydney, and do NZ Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) rights apply?
Under New Zealand Customs de minimis rules, orders valued at or under NZ$1,000 enter New Zealand with zero border import duty or entry tariffs. Orders valued over NZ$1,000 NZD may be assessed standard 15% NZ import GST and customs clearance fees by NZ Customs upon arrival prior to delivery. Your statutory rights under both the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) are not affected by our 6-Month Store Warranty.
