For Australian buyers shopping in the $450 to $800 AUD bracket, choosing between a refurbished iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, or standard iPhone 14 comes down to three hardware priorities: 120Hz ProMotion OLED, USB-C vs Lightning, and screen size.
1. Why the Refurbished iPhone 14 Pro Max Remains a Sydney Best-Seller
The iPhone 14 Pro Max introduced the Dynamic Island, Always-On 120Hz ProMotion display, and the 48MP main sensor inside a surgical-grade stainless steel frame. At under $700 AUD in certified refurbished condition at Phone Repair Centre, it outperforms brand-new mid-range Android phones costing twice as much.
2. iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Plus vs iPhone 14 Pro Max & iPhone 14
| Model | Charging Port | Refresh Rate | Key Advantage in 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Refurbished iPhone 15 Pro | USB-C (USB 3) | 120Hz ProMotion | Lightweight Titanium + A17 Pro + USB-C |
| Refurbished iPhone 15 Plus | USB-C | 60Hz Super Retina | 6.7-inch Screen + Huge Battery Endurance |
| Refurbished iPhone 14 Pro Max | Lightning | 120Hz ProMotion | 6.7-inch Flagship + 48MP Camera Under $700 |
| Refurbished iPhone 14 Pro | Lightning | 120Hz ProMotion | Compact 6.1-inch Pro Camera System Under $600 |
| Refurbished iPhone 14 | Lightning | 60Hz Super Retina | Removable Rear Glass + High Reliability Under $500 |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the iPhone 14 Pro Max still supported by the latest iOS updates in 2026 and 2027?
Yes. Powered by the A16 Bionic 6-core processor and 6GB LPDDR5 RAM, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max run current iOS releases smoothly with years of ongoing Apple security and feature support.
Should I pick a standard iPhone 14 or step up to an iPhone 14 Pro?
If you value a 120Hz ProMotion display, 3x optical telephoto lens, and Dynamic Island, step up to the iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. If you want a lighter everyday phone with lower repair costs, the standard iPhone 14 is an outstanding choice.
